Each year, more than 4,500 Ottawa-area youth ages six to 18 come to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. They come for the homework help, or to spend time playing basketball with their friends. They come to help in the kitchen, creating delicious dishes to share with other Members. They come to learn how to knit or read music or do other things they can't even imagine yet. Most of all, they come to learn. They learn how to be good citizens, how to interact with others and how to plan for their best possible future.
And they come because they can, thanks to you. The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa offers barrier-free programming, meaning it's free for everyone, in all eight of our Ottawa locations. We do not want to see youth turned away at the door because they can't pay. Instead, Members 'pay' with their character. They must abide by the Club rules and remain respectful, contributing Club Members. That's their end of the bargain.
Our end is that we keep these programs going and give them all of the skills they'll need to succeed.
Make a general donation and we'll put your gift where it's needed most!
Most of the monies raised go directly to program delivery. Just 9% of funds raised by the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa goes to cover administration costs.
