The gift of Holiday magic

Published November 11, 2022 17:16

Our CEO & BGC Ottawa familyThis holiday season feels extra special as we continue to see more family and friends.

We get to reconnect with generations after a time apart. I hope you are planning some traditions and moments to celebrate, too.

It is also a time to remember special people who impact our lives daily.

Today, I am asking for you to be that person. Please consider a special year-end gift to fund FREE life-changing programs for thousands of children and youth in 19 neighbourhoods. A donation of any amount would do a world of good.

Earlier this year, our Taggart Parkes Family Clubhouse manager, Tammy, shared her story with you. Her life was forever changed by the good the Club does. Twenty years later, she still shows up every day because she knows that investing in young people changes entire neighbourhoods for the better.

In September, Tammy, our manager, introduced me to a wonderful family at an event. Mom, Viola, teen Toni and little Prince Robert shared their story of how BGC Ottawa changed their lives.

Toni was shy when she first started coming to the Club. Now she is her school president! How wonderful.

Examples like these illustrate the importance of evidence-based and impactful programming for youth in their neighbourhood when they need it most in those critical afterschool hours and during the summer.

As a supporter and donor, you are part of our BGC Ottawa family. We all know how important it is to invest in young people. It is one of the only things that transform communities from the inside out.

Today, please consider giving an impactful holiday gift to benefit a child and youth in Ottawa to live their dreams.

I wish you a holiday full of meaning, connection, and magic.

Sincerely,

Signature Adam Joiner
