Camp Smitty

Camp Smitty is often described by parents as genuine, responsible and trustworthy, while Campers say it’s fun, cool and awesome. Camp is such a special place in the hearts of so many people, and we hope to see your children and youth in our world of fun soon.

Program Overview

Our tradition and commitment is to ensure every child has the most positive camp experience!

Camp Smitty, operated by BGC Ottawa, offers a beautiful lakefront setting, fantastic Staff team and dynamic programs for Campers aged 8 to 16 years old. Since 1924, the camp has built a reputation as a highly respected program – something we’re very proud of – and we’ve provided exceptional summer experiences for thousands of young people.

Our Staff team always sets us apart; they are an extraordinarily impressive group of dedicated people who genuinely care about the Campers. They create a safe and fun environment, offering parents peace of mind and encouraging kids to have the time of their lives.

We must acknowledge

BGC Ottawa acknowledges that our work spans many Territories and Treaty areas and we are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers Elders who are with us today, those who have gone before us and the youth that continuously inspire us in the work that we do. BGC Ottawa's mission statement is to provide safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life. We recognize that these values are impossible to attain without the ongoing guidance and partnerships with Indigenous peoples.
