JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CLUB
MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY 5:30-6:00 PM

SWIM TEAM 
MONDAY 6:00-7:00 PM (Beginner Swim Team - Members who require life jackets in the deep end, and cannot swim more than 36 m continuously)

WEDNESDAY 6:00-7:00 PM (Intermediate/Advanced Swim Team - Members who can tread water and can swim 36 m or more continuously)

LIFEGUARDING GAMES

We run lessons for BGC members in three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Please see below to identify the Red Cross Equivalency.

Swim Kids 1-3

  INTERMEDIATE

  1. Building endurance
  2. Distance swims up to 100m
  3. Kneeling, stride and front dives
  4. Stroke development: front crawl and back crawl up to 25m
  5. Introduction to elementary backstroke
  6. Whip kick on front and back up to 10m
  7. Sculling: head first and feet first
  8. Treading water up to 1:30 min
  9. Dolphin kick
  10. Safety outside aquatic environments
Swim Kids 4-6
    ADVANCED  Developing and improving strokes:
  • Front crawl
  • Back crawl
  • Breaststroke
  • Elementary backstroke
  • Sidestroke
  • Intro to butterfly
  1. Distance swims up to 500m
  2. Treading water/ eggbeater up to 3 mins
  3. Advanced deep water entries
  4. Lifesaving and first aid skills
